Dear Friends & Family of Sherwood Care,
-We received notice this evening that one of our new admissions tested positive for COVID
-This individual came to us on Monday, was swabbed that day and has been on isolation since arrival.
-The resident has been on full droplet and contact isolation since admission and has not left the private room
-There are no close contacts identified at this time.
-Close contact is defined as being less than 6 feet from the affected person, without your PPE (mask & shield for 15 minutes)
What we are doing:
-All protocols are already in place to support the residents care and the safety of other residents and staff
-Shielding will continue for all staff and family members/DSP’s
-Asymptomatic swabbing for residents will begin tomorrow, followed by staff swabbing
What you can do:
-DSP’s are not restricted at this time, but we will continue to monitor the situation
-Please review your visit schedule and if you are able, consider reducing or suspending your scheduled in person visits
-Virtual connections are available. You can request these through Harley and Ana
-Remember, we will contact you if there is any change in your loved ones condition or we have any concerns.
-Please consider holding your calls of inquiry, unless urgent, so staff can focus their efforts on caring for you loved ones.
Although this is not the news we were hoping to share with you today, we are confident that everything has been done and our process are in place. We know that our incredible staff will continue to provide exceptional care to each and every one of our residents, while taking all the precautions necessary to prevent any spread.
Thank you for your continued support and prayers!
